For most high school graduates looking forward to college, the middle of summer is an exciting time, gaining their independence, partying with friends and looking forward to new things; it’s a time of celebration. For the well-off kids of New Orleans’ upscale Garden District, the middle of summer is a time to party like never before. Only for Megan, this particular summer is a time of mourning and loss due to her identical twin sister Sophie’s unexplained suicide, six months earlier.

Although haunted by her sister’s shocking death, Megan attempts to escape her troubles and joins her closest friends on their annual retreat; a trip to the backwoods of rural Louisiana for a weekend of fun at her families rustic boat house.
